On Saturday, authorities continued their search for people who had visited the Nizamuddin congregation that turned into a coronavirus hotspot. A dozen men from three mosques in Gautam Buddh Nagar were tested for coronavirus and sent to an isolation facility after it emerged that they might have come in contact with a COVID-19 positive man, who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi’s Nizamuddin last month, PTI reported. The three mosques are in the Dadri area of Greater Noida, where the coronavirus-infected man, who hails from Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh, had stayed in the second half of March, and those have been sanitized, police said.
Meanwhile, during a meeting, it was found out that there are between 20,000 and 30,000 ventilators that may be lying dysfunctional across the country. This includes both public and private sector hospitals. The meeting was chaired by the NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant on Wednesday. Many senior representatives of the industry chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) were also there. Meanwhile, India is observing a 21-day lockdown and has entered its 12th day on Sunday.
