Puducherry A 68-year-old woman who traveled to UAE tests positive for Covid-19, first case in UT
A 68-year-old woman tested positive for Covid-19 in Puducherry’s Mahe on Tuesday.
According to authorities, she had international travel history. The woman had traveled to the UAE and had returned to India last week.
The patient is currently undergoing treatment at the Mahe General Hospital. Her condition is reported to stable.
Authorities have said that her contact list is also under observation.
The diagnosis marks the positive case of the novel coronavirus in Puducherry.
Last week, three people with suspected symptoms of coronavirus were kept under observation in government and private hospitals in the Union territory.
The Puducherry government on Sunday declared a holiday for all pre KG and primary schools in the Union Territory until further orders as part of precautionary steps to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The official number of positive coronavirus cases in India as per 11.52 am on March 17 is 126 with 3 deaths. 13 Indian Covid-19 patients have made recovery so far.
